Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum
A Symbol of Gratitude and Respect for a National Hero
The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, a key landmark in Vietnam, is dedicated to the country's beloved leader, Ho Chi Minh, who played a vital role in the nation's fight for independence. Located in Hanoi, the mausoleum attracts numerous visitors annually, both domestic and international. Construction began in 1973, and it was officially opened in 1975. Standing 21.6 meters tall and 41.2 meters wide, it is surrounded by lush gardens and a plaza with 240 green squares. Inside the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, there is a room lined with marble, where the body of President Ho Chi Minh lies in a glass casket. The casket is placed on a copper platform adorned with a lotus pattern. Three sides of the casket are made of reinforced glass, allowing visitors to view the president’s body. He is dressed in a faded khaki shirt and simple rubber sandals. Four soldiers stand guard at all times, ensuring the respect and dignity of the site.
